  • Oo.. such a shiny new thread.
Sox not lookign too threateningish so far in this inning.
Maybe Hinske will perform some of his occasional Hinske magic?

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 8:30 pm
  • “Even if it doesnt make Wang less effectively, taking more pitches would at least get him out of the game faster”
That is my belief also. Drives me crazy when Sox hitters take hacks at the first pitch.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 8:31 pm
  • Question. Why are the announcers talking about how goo dit will be to have both Piniero AND Donnelly back? Don’t they realize that will mean some one has to be sent down? Like.. Delcarmen? No thnak you.
    Piniero needs to go.

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 8:32 pm
  • Piniero is good for those games that we have waved the white towel. He can be used for numerous mop up innings. I agree though that him and Donnelly coming back means that Delcarmen is probably not long for the big league club.
Holy blown out skivvies!! Hinskie Homers!!

    Rob July 14, 2007, 8:34 pm

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 8:34 pm
  • I really can’t imagine they will send Delcarmen down though, Rob. A sub 2 ERA? Everyone in the media is called him the missing piece. They are psyched about it.
LUgo beats out an infield hit, his 1,000 hit.

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 8:36 pm
  • Yes you did!

    Rob July 14, 2007, 8:36 pm
  • Lugo safe on a failed Pitch Out! WOOOO SPEED!

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 8:37 pm
  • There is still a long part of the summer left. Delcarmen is good, but as the summer went on last year he started to struggle with is command. Granted he was called up kind of early last year and that was a large contributing factor.
Lugo now 2-2. And steals second.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 8:39 pm
  • Ugh. Abreu homers in the Yankee game and they take a 4-3 lead.
    Coco walks!

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 8:39 pm
  • Abreau with a 2 run shot to put Yanks up 4-3.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 8:40 pm
  • Damn. I was wishing that Pedroia would draw the walk so Papi could get to the plate.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 8:43 pm
  • See now .. if the D-Rays had been taking pitches against Wang maybe he’d only havce an inning or so left. That means theysd get to play with the Yankee bullpen more. As it is… Wang could go 8.
Stupid DRays. Thank GOD we get to play them (and the Os) so much in this half.

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 8:44 pm
  • Alright Dice, nice quick inning here.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 8:44 pm
  • Manny hustles and keeps Johnsons hit to a sing.
10 bucks says they IBB Papi in the bottom of the inning.

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 8:48 pm
  • DP! Woot!

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 8:50 pm
  • Manny with two K’s tonight.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 8:55 pm
  • That strike three to Youk looked really low.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 8:59 pm
  • Can we get someone warming? Just in case?

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:01 pm
  • Leadoff double to Thomas. Not the best way to start this inning off.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:02 pm
  • Lead off double for Thomas.
    Ugh UGH UGH!

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:02 pm
  • maybe we should walk Glaus the next time he comes up. 2 doubles and a homerun tonight.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:06 pm
  • 4-2 now. Consecutive doubles. No outs. I can feel this game coming apart.
    Oh finally.. Delcarmens losening.

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:06 pm
  • TB with bases loaded and 2 outs. Wang hit Wiggington to load them.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:10 pm
  • I am about to have a nervous break down with this game.
Come on guys.. get out of this inning, PLEASE.
2-run homer for Aaron hill and the game is tied.
DAMMIT! I’m gonna go take a shower.

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:12 pm
  • Crap..someone throw a rope to him. Hopefully Delcarmen is close to ready.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:12 pm
  • Dice finally gets out of the inning. Damage is done though as the game is tied 4-4.

    Anonymous July 14, 2007, 9:16 pm
  • Alright boys. Produce some runs, then we can go Delcarmen, Okajima and Paps

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:17 pm
  • Lowell with the leadoff single.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:19 pm
  • TOAST!!! two run shot!! We have the lead again.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:20 pm

  • Tallet in pitching for Toronto now.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:22 pm
  • It took me three tried to read that, TJ :-)
Lugo’s up. I swear if he gets on base again I may just die of shock

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:24 pm
  • Ga! Urk! *collapses*

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:25 pm
  • Lugo 3-3 tonight!!

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:26 pm
  • Pedroia! I love our farm boys!

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:32 pm
  • Double steal!!! Weee!

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:33 pm
  • Manny due for a GS.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:35 pm
  • Wow. Kameron Loe in the Angels-Rangers game threw *8* straight balls to begin the game. I wonder what the record for straight balls to begin a game is

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:36 pm
  • No GS, but I’ll take the SacFly. Nice to have Manny and Papi producing again

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:37 pm
  • Well I guess the sac fly serves the purpose also.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:38 pm
  • Base Hit for Youk!
    Pedroia Scores!

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:38 pm
  • TJ…I’ve tried that link and nothing plays. Any secret to it?

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:39 pm
  • Inning ends with Lowell going down swinging.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:40 pm
  • Red Sox Batters: “Knock around our boy, Daisuke, will you? Shake his confidence? Raise his ERA? Mess with one of us you mess with all of us biyatches!”

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:41 pm
  • By the way.. anyone who HASNT seen Transformers…
    Go see it.
It was 20 pounds of awesoem in a 2 pound awesome capacity bag. Very much made me giddy. Then again I LOVED the cartoon as a child.
    I’ve seen it TWICE already.

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:43 pm
  • Dionysus…my kids saw it and came back amped from the movie. They want to see it again badly.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:46 pm
  • Delcarmen comes in slinging 7 types of smoke.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:47 pm
  • Delcarmen is nasty. He was never this good last year. I see no reason to send him down.

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:47 pm
  • Seriously… Delcarmen, Okajima, Papelbon? That makes most games 6 inning games for the opposition. You can NOT sewnd him down. This has been too good.
Hell if Timlin continues finding himself.. just.. wow.

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:49 pm
  • And off that common sense approach is probably why we do send him down.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:53 pm
  • Lugo pops out. Still.. 3-for-4 is a GREAT sign for him

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:53 pm
  • Pena homers for TB, trail Yanks 5-4

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:54 pm
  • If we send him down, Theo gets a very angry lett from me.

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:55 pm
  • Im not quite sure why Delcarmen is still beign used. With 5 runs, I really wouldn’t want to make him unavailable for tommorrow. Why not5 bring in Piniero? He didnt even go a full inning yesterday.
Awww.. Mike gives the ballgirl some applause for a nice scoop.

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:57 pm
  • Delcarmen hits 97 on the gun on that last pitch to Thomas.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 9:58 pm
  • Thomas Ks. Glaus fouls out.
    5 outs – 20 pitches. Delicious.

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 9:59 pm
  • Glaus pops out. Couldn’t manage to do that earlier in the game?

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:00 pm
  • ANOTHER K for Little Manny!

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 10:02 pm
  • 4Ks in 2 innings tonight for Delcarmen.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:02 pm
  • Another hit for Coco. Man… Coco, Lugo, Drew.. are really turning it around.

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 10:06 pm
  • Crisp with a fine night tonight also.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:07 pm
  • Piniero should work the 9th tonight.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:13 pm
  • Abreau knocks another run in for the Yanks. That gives him 5 RBIs tonight and the Yanks a 6-4 lead in the top of the 9th.

    Anonymous July 14, 2007, 10:15 pm
  • Of course, Okajima in to pitch the 9th.
Way to go Tito, 5 run lead and the opportunity to give Oki the night off.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:16 pm
  • Now I’m confused. Why Oki? Thats just not nessecary!

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 10:16 pm
  • >>”Now I’m confused. Why Oki? Thats just not nessecary!”
Exactly my train of thought. Not sure what this is accomplishing eiher.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:18 pm
  • Pineiro was the logical choice. I’m annoyed… we still have *16* games before we get a night off. We can’t afford to be burnign anyone out when they dont need to be!

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 10:18 pm
  • Pineiro was the logical choice. I’m annoyed… we still have *16* games before we get a night off. We can’t afford to be burnign anyone out when they dont need to be!

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 10:19 pm
  • Wells with a two out single.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:20 pm
  • Sox win! With Beckett going tommorrow, I think we can take the series. Then the Royals come to town. Not sure how to feel about that.
The Royals DO suck, but they have had a habit the past coupole years of giving the Sox AND the Yanks fits

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 10:22 pm
  • Game over. Dice needs to take a number of people to dinner tonight for bailing him out after that horrible 6th inning.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:22 pm
  • Wigginton grounds out for the first out in the B9th in TB.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:23 pm
  • This should be a cake save for Rivera. he is facing the 7/8/9 hitters of the lineup.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:24 pm
  • Gomes singles to right off of Rivera.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:25 pm
  • Cantu PHing for Cassanova. The TB bench is ugly. They have nothing oon it with pop for late innings.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:27 pm
  • Cantu strikes out. 2 down.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:27 pm
  • Gomes moves to 2nd.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:28 pm
  • Wow. CC Sabathis just had anotyher bad game, this tiem agaisnt the, gulp, Royals.

    Dionysus July 14, 2007, 10:29 pm
  • Iwamura goes down swining.
Cantu and Iwamura both struck out swinging on pitches letter high.
Yanks win 6-4 on the shoulders of the Bobby Abreau show.

    Rob July 14, 2007, 10:30 pm
