  • Coco today was listed as needing surgery on his finger. That should mean that he is now done for the year.

  • 8 shutout innings from Tavarez. Bizarre. Too bad it took such dire straits for the team to realize he’s far more effective as a starter.

  • 7-1 final. 8 games left. It would be nice to finish the season strong — maybe even get to 90 wins?

  • Wow. We’ve officially entered bizarro world when Julian Tavarez pitches a complete game.
    I’m stunned.

  • Am I totally off-base in thinking this is the first complete game pitched by a Sox starter all season? I know Beckett and Schilling haven’t…

  • It’s the second, Paul. Wakefield had one waaaaaay back in April against the Mariners. The Sox were shutout and he took the tough loss.
