Papi on the Record

It’s nice that he’s so vehement, even if that proves nothing. It’s also nice to hear directly about his background, his feelings about the Hall of Fame, and his disinterest in catering to certain people’s wishes when it comes to celebrating home runs. I was skeptical of Jeter’s website, professing itself to be a direct pipeline from the players’ brains to the fans’. But it has produced some interesting content.

  • I don’t care about steroids, or HGH, or any PED in baseball, because baseball is a dirty game. It has been forever. I’ve said this too many times, probably. Baseball has been trying to wash the stench of years of rot and ugliness from its house while getting mad for a few guests dragging some soil on its carpet, but walls are still full of vermin. I think David Ortiz might be my second favorite baseball player, now.

  • I don’t care about PED’s either.

But to be fair, he was on the same list as ARod. So it’s a bit silly for anyone to act like he played clean.

  • PS I have watched quite a few Spring Training games and I have to say. I an not very excited for this season. Pretty much looks like the last couple years. Zero offense, pitchers that are one pitch away from surgery…not good.

    Tanaka looked awful again today.

  • Pineda has been really solid this Spring. So there’s that.
