  • Aaron Fucking Boone
Aaron Small (I actually used his name as a swearword the year he went 10-0 for the Yanks)

  • Phrase:
    “…the Yankees sign free agent pitcher _____ _____ to a $___,000,000 contract.”

  • Funny thing is I was at the Mets game last night (man, that team looks awful – pictures coming soon) and they showed the Mookie ball-through-the-legs ’86 clip, and I was unfazed. In fact, I actually kind of smiled. So “Buckner” doesn’t really do much to me anymore. “Bucky”, on the other hand, well that was my 10th birthday, so fuck you, Dent. That’s one that is going to linger.

  • Kevin Brown the HOFer?! With Schilling?!
And I can’t blame McDowell for 1995. They don’t make it to the post-season without his season. And Buck left Cone in for *146* pitches before he took him out for Mo. After the Griffey homer, the Yanks were still up 4-3. Cone gets a groundout (2 outs) then walks Tino. Buck leaves him in for *three* more batters (a single and two walks – one forcing in the tying run) before pulling him.
And McDowell did well for two innings – after Buck pulled Mo early – and should never have been left in for a third, especially not after they took the lead in the 11th. Buck was trying to match Unit with Blackjack.

  • Krueg’s got my vote with:

  • Looking back at that series, with what I know now, I’m even more infuriated. It’s obvious why Pinella still has a job and Showalter doesn’t. Perfect example where the manager killed the team – and after 2-0 series lead.
SFs can have Bucky and Buckner.
I never want to hear “Buck” again.
