Switcheroo: Sox-Os Gamer II

So there’s one game and 8.5 innings left to go in the Red Sox’ forlorn season. It seems we should finish strong here at YFSF and post the last two game threads — we’re not fair-weather fans. We were here when the Sox were in first place. We’re here now that they’re fighting for second.

Another person who’s here, at long last? Manny Ramirez — DH-ing as David Ortiz takes a seat. Are we seeing perhaps the second-to-last game (or maybe even the last?) with Manny in a Red Sox uniform? Will tomorrow be the last time we see perhaps the greatest 3-4 combination in our lifetimes hit in the same lineup? It certainly makes these last two games feel special. An historic era could be drawing to a close.

  • Not only the possibility of Manny leaving, but also Trot. The Sox outfield could possibly be overhauled with the rumors of Crisp leaving also.

  • Sox down 3-0 in the T5th. Of course Wakefield is pitching and we do not have a hit.

  • Thanks a bunch, Timlin. [Sigh] Have we clinched third place yet?
Nice to see Manny come back and hit a bomb, and Ortiz make that noisy out. Have we seen the last of our great 3-4 combo? I wonder.
I always feel depressed when the Sox pack it in for the winter, but this year it’s much worse than normal. It’s going to be such a long winter.
