Look! It’s the Subway Series! Again! The Yanks are rolling. The Mets are in free-fall. Roger Clemens, bane to the Shea Faithful, is on the hill for the Bombers. Oliver Perez, who seems to have found whatever it was that made him a BP golden boy 2 years ago, takes the mound for the boys from Queens. Has all the makings of a Friday Night Classic. We’ll be watching. Comment here…..

Damn, Phelps is in the house doggie style…
the 2007 edition started weeks ago, but i don’t blame you for blocking out most of this season.
Damon is a late scratch, by the way..
Right you are YFIB. Sorry about that. I was out of town for the first one, so I’m going to use that as my excuse. Also, docha think there’s too many of these games???
let’s just hope you enjoy being around for this one, YF.
are the mets going to bust out of their slump now?
is that enough to jinx it?
Yes, too many mets/yanks games. It should be four in four consecutive days, two at each park.
Lar, where did you hear/read Damon was a scratch? What’s the problem? Thanks.
Well this is off to a craptastic start. not sure about the 2-2 fastball to reyes. where’s the splitter there? and now 2 on with 0 out….
well. grounder to alex for wright, k for delgado, and now rocket 1 out from getting out of it.
6-3 ends the inning.. I was secretly hoping for a broken bat back to the mound..
Out of trouble on the loduca grounder to short. mets gotta be kicking themselves for letting rog off the hook there.
Giants already up 2 on the sox! God i love our scoreboard.
Damon scratched with a “slight abdominal pull” according to Kay.
YF: yeah, the scoreboard has been growing on me as of late too. I’m glad it wasn’t there last month, but now I don’t mind so much. :)
Captain, my captain. single to left.
Ugly K by Abreu for the second out on the breaking ball.
ARod with a tipped K ends the inning.
touche. yanks strand jeter at 2nd after ks from abreu and alex.
crapola. 2-2 in beantown. slugfest over there.
wow. papi already tossed in that sox game for arguing a strike call.
things are set up for the yanks tonite. just need to knock down the pins.
Rocket cruises through the back half of the mets lineup.
Mets are stealing at will right now.
Yankees get out of the inning cheaply on a 6-4 force after Delgado Ks. Could have been worse. Mets lead 1-0 in the middle of the third.
Clemens at 60 pitches through 3. Luckily, the bullpen is rested.
Perez had 36 through 2, let’s hope the Yanks get through to him.
My internet is awful, so not much play by play here..
ARod miss one, not by much though, and flies out to the warning track. Let’s go Posada!
Abreu steals second, but no help as Posada strikes out. End of 3, 1-0 Mets. Oliver at 53 pitches.
How is Clemens looking?
Clemens with a quick 1-2-3 on 7 pitches or so, keeping the PC low – at 68 pitches after 4.
Still 1-0 Mets. Go Yankees!
Clemens looks okay, if a bit erratic. The run were mostly thanks to the fact they run on him and taking bases. Got a little lucky, but the last inning was strong, even if it’s against the bottom of the lineup.
Perez walking himself into trouble against a patient Yanks team.
Cairo drives one to the top of the wall, missing a HR by a foot or so. Gomez makes the catch and doubles up Matsui.
Bah, the Yanks not taking advantage of their opportunities.
Perez now at 71 pitches after 4 – could be and definitely should be worse.
Perez avoids a large dagger that innning
Has Rogah thrown a bat at anyone yet?
Reyes smacks a HR, and it’s now 2-0.
Can’t say I’m too disappointed with this game. Clemens pitched very well against a good offense, and the Mets made some rather good plays. The key one would have put the Yanks up 3-1, later 3-2, if Gomez hadn’t pulled a Melky and caught it over the wall.
Ah well, they had to lose sometime.
Wait, isn’t the game still on?
Darn it! I was trying to do a reverse jinx. Apparently this wasn’t the night.
So let me try…The Sox definitely will blow this lead.
That didn’t work either. Just not my night.
