That Felt Good: O’s-Yanks Gamer VI

Chien-Ming Wang is hurt and though it should concern me, it doesn’t. Everybody seems to want to share an opinion on Joba, but the thought hasn’t even crossed my mind. The Sox are nuclear hot, but I’m not bothered. Ian Kennedy starts tonight and has yet to hold any team to less than three runs over six innings this season (in fact it’s usually much worse), but I don’t really care about that. All I care for is to A) watch ARod crush and B) watch the Yankees win.
Comment away.

Lineup:
Don’t care about that either, except the guy in stripes hitting clean-up.

    A = 30% – 40% chance
    B = 45% chance
    Not great odds, Gerb!

  • Sounds like AG’s been hanging out drinking most of the day.

    I’m not drunk. I’m exhausted from a day of drinking.

  • Wow. Wadda play by Markakis

  • Kennedy in a big jam here. Top three, walks Payton on five pitches to load them for Markakis. Misses on the first two pitches. Oof.

  • Strike taken, followed by a swing a fastball tailing away. Deuces: Kennedy gets him on another tailing fastball. Sweet.

  • Now Aubrey Huff with two outs.

    attackgerbil May 22, 2008, 7:48 pm
  • Huff takes inside, then takes outside corner for strike one. The 1-1 is away, and the 2-1 is called a strike at the knees. Looked good, but Huff is in a huff about it. The 2-2 is fouled back. Deuces again: high fly to normal left to end the inning. Huge for Kennedy to work out of that. Never mind he is at approximately 137 pitches through three innings.

  • What’s going on here? Are we back to this 1-run-per-game crap?

  • God, Rivera’s good.

  • Ahhh, that was nice. Great game. IPK pitches nicely; Farns and Mo solid; Robi… good win. My favorite part was watching Godzilla’s face as he rounded third, summoning all the giddyup he had to beat Payton’s throw.

  • Good game for both starters and an exciting finish. I was impressed with IPK and Burress. If this is the future, it’s going to be very interesting.

    Yeah.

  • I missed the end of the game (!! looks like a great finish) and the Joe G. ejection. Why was he tossed?

    attackgerbil May 22, 2008, 10:33 pm
  • For the record, a day or so I said that Girardi needs to go out there and get himself ejected, to light a fire under the Yankees. If today marks the start of the comeback, and a month from now the Yanks are back in it, I just want it to be on record that I’m all-knowing and brilliant.

  • “…Why was he tossed?…”
    for a disagreement with the home plate ump about a call on giambi…the ump hallucinated the ball tipping the end of the bat…the ball was caught by the catcher making it strike three…it appeared on the replay that the ball missed the bat by inches, and the delayed call by the ump made the “bad” call even more annoying…to joe anyway…me, i’m ok with it…getting used to it actually…kind of like we keep coming out on the short end of every head-hunting episode…i guess we’re going to have to start getting in the first lick…

  • I believe the turnaround – if it lasts long enough to be called that – technically began with the 8-0 beating the previous night. But I’m happy to acknowledge your omniscience regardless Atheose…that is, if you can tell me what I’m thinking now…
    Incidentally, if we are taking bows, Darrell Rasner call-up and IPK send-down clearly the right move one month ago. Though admittedly a chimpanzee could have advocated the same given the options at the time.
    Got to feel good for Rasner. I always like when borderline guys break through and perform well – even if only for a while. Must be gratifying and vindicating after all the years of work.

  • That was a fun game to watch…I had forgotten what a walk-off win felt like! Girardi’s tirade was AWESOME!!! The crowd was going crazy…felt good to feel some like in the Stadium. I hope Girardi let’s the beast out more often. He isn’t Torre and I don’t want him to try and be the calm, fatherly-figure Mr. T was…
    ARod striking out in the 9th hurt a little…would have been nice to see him get a big hit there. Oh well, he had a solid series coming back off of the DL so no complaints. Let’s see if they can get something started against the M’s…3 in a row???
