Trifecta? Sox-Twins Gamer III

Quick: anyone remember the last time the Sox swept a series? Bzzzzt. Time’s up. It was last July against Seattle, which is like saying you have a girlfriend who lives in Canada.

Clay Buchholz gets the nod for the Sox, while Aussie Liam Hendriks mans the mound for Minnesota. Yahoo doesn’t even have a head shot of Hendriks, but with a bit of digging, I found one. Comment away.

An Avenue Q reference, and a reddit-style Aussie joke in one thread? Be still my beating heart!
I’ll actually get to watch most of this game, unlike most of the ones in the last week. Of course that means Buchholz will probably crap the bed. Oh well.

Twins get 1 back in bottom of inning, have chance at another with runner at 3rd, 2 out. 0-2 count to Carroll…grounder to 1st, damage limited. 4-1 Sox after 2.

Salty drives ’em in with 2 in scoring position and 2 out! And gets caught trying to go to 2nd…but I barely feel the annoyance in the face of the clutch hit.

Feels like Buchholz’s WHIP for this game is like 6.000 (I know it’s more like 2.5 or something at this point, but still, 75 pitches after 3 and 1/3, ferchrissakes).

7-4, runners at corners for Twins, 1 out. Ball was way up, but Mauer hit it off Atchison’s heel into left center and the Twins score two for it. In comes Thomas, I think.

Bruins lose in OT. All 7 games decided by a goal. Bruins led in regulation in only 2 games in the series. Incredible it went 7.
Gotta wonder if TT has played his last game for the Bs.

Glad I went to bed and missed the last few innings. Even when they win it’s ugly.
The worst part about Buchholz is that he’s not striking out anyone. Starting off poorly can be bearable if their stuff still looks good, but he’s clearly not fooling anybody out there.
