Up from the Mat: Twins-Sox Gamer I

Sox were in a couple of the games this past weekend (till the 8th inning in game 2 with a 2-out, 2 RISP chance for Pedroia to tie before that, all the way to the end of game 3), but finally got shut out of the win column in a series. I don’t really feel much shame, surprise, or loss of hope, though. Facing a very good team on the road, with all the pitching matchups against them, they battled and lost.

Today looks better on paper: Worley and the Twins vs. Buchholz. Comment away!

  • ShinyArmgate in full effect as Clay gives up a run in the 1st.

(No, he didn’t doctor the ball, that’s the dumbest conspiracy idea ever.)

  • And it was almost a lot more as Clay left ’em loaded and needed 36 pitches. Last two dudes K’d. Now it’s time for the offense to pound the shit out of Worley.

  • Top 3 in the batting order (Ellsbury, Victorino, Pedroia) have 1 HR between them on the season (Ellsbury)…oy.

  • Yeah, Hanrahan’s really pissed in the corn flakes. Easily the lowlight moments of the Sox season are his so far.

11 innings. Just what the bullpen doesn’t need. Will Dempster pitch? He headed to the ‘pen at the end of regulation…
