Weekday Day Game: Jays-Yanks III

Yanks down 3-2 in the third with CC looking mediocre and the Yankee defense looking even worse with two early errors.  Happ is on the mound for the Jays in this series finale before the Yanks get a rare late-season home-off-day and the dangerous O’s come to town on Thursday.

  • If Cano is so good…he should be able to carry the team for a few weeks…

    So far. Total, abject failure.

  • Kurtis???????

    BIG 2-out 2-RBI double…

    krueg August 29, 2012, 2:14 pm
  • 2nd and 3rd, no outs…nothing from Nix, IBB to Jeter, horrible K from Swisher…

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 2:34 pm
  • 2nd and 3rd with no outs…

Bases loaded with 1 out for the #2 and #3 hitters…

    ZERO FUCKING RUNS.

This team is so terrible with men on base. It makes no sense.

    krueg August 29, 2012, 2:37 pm
  • And then a K from Cano. What a failure with RISP…

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 2:38 pm
  • Through 4 innings each, Happ has thrown 92 pitches and CC has thrown 53…that SHOULD bode well, but we really need CC to settle down…

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 2:40 pm
  • Both Happ and CC have incredibly efficient 5th innings throwing 8 total pitches each…onto the 6th. We need insurance runs and/or a strong complete game from CC, esp as Robertson is unavailable and Soriano may very well be unavailable…

  • Way to give a strong ace performance CC…5-4 Jays on a 2-run HR by Escobar.

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 2:56 pm
  • CC blows another lead…

I love this team. They really want it bad, that’s what I love the most…

    krueg August 29, 2012, 2:56 pm
  • …and this lineup is pure power for the Jays. I mean, playoff-caliber…

OH WAIT. They are the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of that…

    krueg August 29, 2012, 2:58 pm
  • No outs, man on first. CC getting pummeled. Gave up 5 hits in the 3rd inning and has given up 3 hits so far here in the 6th.

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 2:59 pm
  • CC gets the second out on his seventh strikeout of the day. To bad he has given up almost that many runs to go along with the Ks…

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:03 pm
  • Heccevarria-ariagopolous-pompadour singles. A one run-deficit vs. 4 innings of the Toronto bullpen is not insurmountable…but you gotta hold them here CC…

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:05 pm
  • 8th K. finally ends the inning. So he has given up 9 hits, all across two innings. Very, very un-CC-like. Not a good time to slump CC.

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:09 pm
  • Nix with a no-out double off the wall. Let’s do this Ichiro…

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:14 pm
  • Thanks to the Yankee defense CC’s 2 earned runs turned into 5 total runs for Toronto.

Please don’t break my heart again with no-out-RISP failure…….

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:15 pm
  • Ichiro Ks faster than I can say I should be working. Chavez pinch hitting

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:15 pm
  • Ground out moves Nix to 3rd. Jeter with 2 outs…

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:16 pm
  • Jeter Ks. Leadoff double and they get nothing. Men on 2nd and 3rd and they get nothing. If this team were a pack of lions you could throw baby lambs in their cage and they’d starve to death. Yes, it’s a stupid and non-sensical metaphor. I’m too annoyed to think straight. I’m starting to fear the Baltimore Orioles. And that just makes me more annoyed.

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:21 pm
  • Ichiro makes a great catch on Lind’s deep drive to end the inning. Runs please.

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:26 pm
  • One pitch one out. Cano up with Jones on deck. May be the last shot that the (rancid) meat of our order gets today…

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:30 pm
  • Cano with a double. That is halfway to home for most teams.

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:31 pm
  • Jones Ks. UN-BE-LIEV-ABLE. How many Ks is that with RISP?!?!!?!?!

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:34 pm
  • Weak groundout to 1st by Granderson ends the inning. Great job fellas.

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:39 pm
  • 2nd with no outs…

Down a run at home in the 7th…

Involved in a suddenly heating up pennant race…

Still cannot score a single, fucking run.

Boy, look out for this juggernaut in October baby!

    krueg August 29, 2012, 3:39 pm
  • 4 pitches by Lowe: 2 hits, no outs. Game about to get out of hand.

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:44 pm
  • Logan comes in to try to mop up Lowe’s mess.

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:47 pm
  • K. Nice job Boone. 1 out – not nearly out of the woods yet. Girardi bringing in Eppley. I’m out of here. I’ve got to work and this is just depressing baseball anyway.

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 3:50 pm
  • Bases loaded in the 9th…with a 1 run deficit…

    2 outs.

    Joba in.

I wonder how many he will give up?

    This season is over.

    krueg August 29, 2012, 4:33 pm
  • Game.

Jones blows a play, Joba gets rocked…

    Fucked. Totally fucked.

    krueg August 29, 2012, 4:36 pm
  • Today’s story: Let down by 1. our defense; 2. our ace; 3. our hitters with RISP.

With Teix and A-Rod out, we may encounter #1 a fair amount in the coming weeks.

We shouldn’t encounter #2 much – CC is solid.

We have been dealing with #3 all season long and there is no reason to think it will improve now that some of our best hitters are out.

    IronHorse - YF August 29, 2012, 5:14 pm
  • Sox are in an absolute spin dive. Not that it particularly matters or is surprising given THE TRADE or anything…just mildly annoying now.
