We’re with the players on this one: hard to justify shifting tonight’s Orioles-Yanks game to 12:45 this afternoon only to have it go 5 before being called. (Isabel!) Yes, the O’s need that Yankee revenue, but is it really necessary to play in gale-force winds with an empty stadium and the city shut down (and all of us worker bees unable to tune in)? Isn’t this where the commissioner’s office is supposed to step in and, say, force a postponement of the game and then some special revenue sharing plan between the teams if the game must be played in NY?
