While You Were Out

It’s been a slow couple of weeks. And with attention diverted this guy has just made another clever move. Billy Beane, somehow, still manages to operate under the radar, and he’s building one very dangerous machine out there over the Bay Bridge. Come October, they might just apply a Big Hurt on the rest of the AL.

PS: Covelli’s flight to Boston still in a “holding pattern.” Maybe permanently.

  • Big (Always) Hurt is great when he can actually make his way out of the dugout, but what are the odds of that being the case in 06? I guess BB isn’t paying him much, so the upside outweighs the risk, but still, it’s like, why not just get Albert Belle out of retirement to take a few cheap swings for you? He could probably still knock a few out.

  • Yeah, I agree. He does not have enough protection in that lineup any longer. Just walk him, then pitch to whatever on-the-cusp superstar is hitting next.
However, you are right – He makes some brilliant moves. How many Yanee and Sox fans would not love to have some of the parts of that pitching stafff?
