Nixon out 6 weeks with a herniated disk, Nomar in an Achilles cast. Pitching is king, thank god.
What about Kim’s dead arm? Also some anonymous comments from a former DBack teamate a few days ago warning that he’s still a headcase from the 2002 WS. That might be pushing it, but I can’t say I’m unhappy about these first signs of trouble in Sox paradise. Nixon’s problem seems a lot more disturbing than Sheffield’s.
Kim Shmim. 5th starter, I can deal. And who’s the brilliant former D-Back? NO SH*T he’s still a headcase. Calvin Schiraldi is still in analysis, for heaven’s sake.
Nixon and Nomar are the (obvious) significant problems, though Trot’s had a bad back in the past. The outgrowth is the image of Manny on skates in right – scary. Still, as I said, pitching is king and the Sox’ 1-4 are as good as it gets in the Majors, so for the first month, with days off and all, the Sox ought to be safe. Best wishes to Trot, Nomar, and BK for a healthy month.
So let’s see….Pokey moves over to short, and at second…paging Lou Merloni!
Pokey and Bellhorn are not greatly lesser in the field than Nomar/Pokey, I don’t think, but Bellhorn couldn’t hit .280 with a Playstation2 Nomar. Ugh. Stay healthy Curt, Pedro, Derek, and Tim!!!
