Yankees Not Only Owned by a Crook …

… they were founded by one, too!

Favorite line:

It would be interesting to ask Mayor Bloomberg if in fact any royalties have ever been paid to date by George Steinbrenner, or any of the previous team owners, to the great City of New York. What’s the world’s greatest sports logo actually worth anyway? A few hundred million? More?

Evil Empire, indeed. (Although, don’t worry, YFs. At least you didn’t let Albert Pujols slip through your fingers).

(Hat tip: Deadspin).

  • That is possibly the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Nevermind that NYer’s been practically paying the Yankees to stay for years..

  • …if the original use of the logo was not trademarked, then it was not improper for it to be used for another purpose…sounds like young bill has an ax to grind with old bill, although it is unlikely he knew the man personally given that he was his “great granduncle”…the piece is so precise, it would be interesting to know how he came about such minute details about the man’s life and activities…

  • Wow, and I don’t want to start any scary rumors, but that plane that crashed in to the building in NY was owned by a company in Brockton, MA, that company was in the process of selling the plane to Cory Lidle.
I really hope Lidle wasn’t on that plane today.
