Yanks-O’s Gamer III: Will the Real RJ Please Stand Up?

The Yankee website claims they’re gonna play through the rain today. We’ll see. Certainly it’s not the ideal weather to be trotting out your aging and fragile ace, who looked all kinds of bad in his last start. But we’ll see what happens. He faces Bruce Chen, who’s been knocked around but good thus far, but gave our boys fits last season. Your thread for comments. Post away….

    YF April 23, 2006, 1:57 pm
  • A-Rod flies out.

    YF April 23, 2006, 1:59 pm
  • With men on base, no doubt. Yes or no?

    SF April 23, 2006, 2:00 pm
  • Ah, I see Sheff got a single. First inning, so obviously there were men on base…

    SF April 23, 2006, 2:01 pm
  • Yeah. And now a dinger for Tejada. 1-0 O’s.

    YF April 23, 2006, 2:02 pm
  • MY MAN MIGGY!!!

    SF April 23, 2006, 2:03 pm
  • Couple of nice plays by A-Rod at the hot corner. And that last one was smoked. This isn’t the dominant Unit of yesteryear, though he’s getting by.

    YF April 23, 2006, 2:07 pm
  • This is like old times, YF. Just you and me and the big, empty internets.

    SF April 23, 2006, 2:08 pm
  • Just like old time for the Giambino as well. Onesies!

    YF April 23, 2006, 2:09 pm
  • And that, Randy, is why you want Jorge behind the plate. Line single.

    YF April 23, 2006, 2:13 pm
  • Just like old times for the Giambino? What, is he injecting horse drugs into his ass again?

    SF April 23, 2006, 2:14 pm
  • Single for Cano extends his streak. Also, we note again that he walked TWICE last night. TWICE. He should watch out for lighning strikes….
    Come on, Andy!

    YF April 23, 2006, 2:14 pm

  • RBI for Philips. Hoot! Nice base running, too.
We’re off now. Other YFs out there will have to hold down this fort. Yanks up 2-1. Need to pile on…..

    YF April 23, 2006, 2:18 pm
  • SF, Giambi is injecting a special thing now…health! Don’t forget…the guy was the left-handed dopleganger of Manny for years!

    walein April 23, 2006, 2:18 pm
  • Ah, yeah, Giambi was all-natural. I forgot.

    SF April 23, 2006, 2:21 pm
  • All I know is that the past two years, Manny’s started equally stunted, if not slower than Giambi.

    walein April 23, 2006, 2:28 pm

    attackgerbil April 23, 2006, 2:56 pm
  • Whoa, just checked in on this game – the third could have been a HUGE inning for the Yanks – two CS?? Man. And Damon ended the second pretty much single-handedly.
And yes, I do know you’re ahead, but you’re as sloppy as we are.

    rk April 23, 2006, 2:56 pm
  • There have been a couple of times this year where I have been wondering if they are outside of their minds when on the base paths. I don’t know if it is the runner, or if Bowa is taking chances, or what. I missed the third so if anyone wants to tell me about those two cs, I would appreciate it.
